This recipe is great for a party. If you need a smaller quantity of mushrooms, just cut the recipe in half. If you make a full recipe and don't want to use it all on mushrooms, the filling is also used for the Sausage Bundles recipe made with Pillsbury Crescent Roll Dough. Sausage Mushroom Caps

  • 1 tub Palmetto Cheese Original, Jalapeno, or Bacon
  • 1 Cup Swiss Cheese, shredded
  • 1 Pound Breakfast Sausage, cooked and drained
  • 1/2 Cup Green Onions, chopped
  • 8 oz. Cream Cheese
  • Mushroom Caps
  • 1/2 Cup Swiss, shredded (for topping)

  1. Brown off the breakfast sausage and then drain it of excess oil and cool.
  2. Combine Palmetto Cheese, Swiss cheese, cooked sausage, green onions, and cream cheese. Stir to combine.
  3. Remove the stems from the mushrooms and place the mushroom caps on a tray or oven safe dish.
  4. Fill each mushroom cap with the filling.
  5. Top with shredded Swiss cheese.
  6. Bake at 400F for 20 minutes.
